conservation today

Preserving history for modern times was no small feat. But the achievement was--and is--nothing less of the "best of both worlds" effect.

After the purchase of the Nyrang estate in 1996, both owners Sykes and Urbanski undertook extensive conservation work to lovingly restore and deliver Nyrang to its original condition. The conservation work was undertaken following a plan lodged with the Cabonne Council as part of a development approval as a tourist facility. The plan was prepared by Jyoti Sommerville, who was a highly regarded Sydney heritage Architect.

The vineyard was established in the following year. Its growth saw Andreas Martz joining to become an invaluable member of the gastronomical enterprise in January 2004.

Today, numerous guests from around the world who come to stay have watched the homestead 'change' with each season from Spring to Winter. They continue to enjoy its rustic beauty, tranquility and most of all, its reverent sense for preserved history.
